OK. I just read on MSN about a returning sailor and his fiancé who actually got married in the Reno airport yesterday. He had just returned from an extended deployment off the coast of Syria. This HAD to be a Gravely guy, but the ship wasn't mentioned. Is this anyone you all know? Very sweet!!!!
I haven't tried yet....I did send an e-mail. My situation is such an odd, complicated one. We met a week before he deployed.....but not really. We have Skyped throughout the entire time he has been gone and sent almost 800 e-mails in the 9 month period. I've been waiting so patiently for him to get back so that we can finally see if this is actually going to go somewhere beyond being 'pen pals'. I would have thought I would hear from him yesterday. This is the hardest thing I have ever done.......some days I feel like just giving up but then I realize how much harder it is for them, the ones who have to be away from EVERYONE that they love. Ugh!
Has anyone else NOT heard from their sailor yet?
My son is already at airport on way to see us. Wont get here till 9 pm . So excited.
Ohhhhh, I guess I misread....I was going solely off of what I read on here, I was getting the impression it was tomorrow.
What do you mean that the Gravely is due in Norfolk TOMORROW? Where did you see this? We've been told it was MONDAY!!
Good Morning - Unlike many of you, I did get to see her this summer; she joined the ship after it was already deployed but I am still SO pumped about seeing my only daughter, my baby girl. My daughter did get a chance to tell me while they were in Italy that they were headed back, however, I am not receiving the Ombudsman's emails. If someone could share that information, I would be so grateful. I am praying for their safe and speedy return and we will be visiting the area for Thanksgiving in order to spend some time with her. Thanks in advance for providing any information that you can.
Anyone else excited??
