The ship is one of two mentioned when the situation in Syria is discussed.  I have heard from my sailor and he said that another ship was turned around while "outchopping" which means it was on its way back home.  But he was very upbeat. You might try any of the major news internet sites for info about what's going on.

I talked to my daughter !!!!  They let her call using the satellite radio.  I hope it's not a problem for me to say that and the Internet is down right now, hopefully it will be back up today.

Liz,

I am not seeing the names on news sites....what am I missing? I haven't heard from my sailor in over a week! I'm going crazy over here!

Time for all of us to send more prayers to our sailors with the latest news from the area.  Seems strange to see the ships' names on news sites on the web.  Be strong!

Welcome aboard! I follow the Sixth Fleet Facebook page.  They post pictures of certain ships in the area almost daily.  Frequently they show the Gravely and have up close, identifiable pictures of individuals on ship.  That has to be a thrill for the families of those sailors.  Good luck to your daughter.

Hi, my daughter was recently assigned to the USS Gravely.  Whats the FB site with pictures?
