really good to chat again..

Jacob94mom-that is wonderful news, congratulations! It must be hard to be separated but October is right around the corner. I just found out our oldest son, not navy, is now engaged. I'm so happy for him. Actually the girl's dad is who discovered my son (via golf lessons, my son is a teaching pro) and spent lots of time with him and decided he'd be a good hubby for his daughter. They have so much in common it's crazy.. Anyway, they met and the rest is history.

Sheis22-I'm looking at your post wondering if we met at homecoming but then I saw your name! Ha ha, were you ever found? I still need to see that movie, have heard great reviews.

B's-aww thank you! Sailor son has landed an incredible job in Maryland. One requirement was navy nuke which he had so he went right to work after his Navy time. He had gone to college before Navy, gained some college credit in the Navy and will probably at some point finish up for his bachelors. I like how you put it, once a navy mom always a navy mom. No doubt!

Hello jackrussell mom and wondertwin, redsmom and welcome to new moms!

Nice to see all these familiar names again. Hope everyone is well. I can't believe it's a year ago we were at homecoming. My son is still with the Truman and doing well thank Goodness. Wishing all of you and your sailors the best!

Hi everyone! Facebook reminded me with our group photos that is been a year already since several of us were there for homecoming! Now they are getting back to business for the next deployment.
My sailor will be home next week for a few days! It's a change of plans for him. His fiancé can't make it to see him, her poor dog has cancer and is having half his jaw removed this week. So he is coming here instead. Yay for me!
My bugles news is I have a new grandbaby! Not my sailors but my Air Force vet sons. She will be three weeks tomorrow. Sadly I won't see her until mid October. Pictures and FaceTime for now.

Hi all - Happy Monday!

jbird - wow!  Please thank your son for his service from me. Does he know what his plans are yet? And you definitely don't need to leave ~ Once a Navy Mom, always a Navy Mom!

I'm excited - we are heading to VA on Wednesday to see B!  Can't wait.  He's getting ready to start his 2nd year of college at the end of August.  So far things are going well - he even made the Dean's Honor List last semester lol!  He had a bit of a mishap a couple of weeks ago - they had a big storm in VA and he got caught in it.  Flooded his engine on his car and the insurance totaled it out :(  Luckily it was worth more than he owed on it so he ended up with about $4000 so now he's looking for a used car to replace it.  If anyone knows of a decent vehicle (with AC) please let me know!  Another Navy mom has a son who is going to Japan so he might have a vehicle for sale and we are hoping to look at it while we are there....

Hope everyone is doing well!  I saw the Truman got a new CO too.

Hi Red's mom and everyone! There are definately "seasons" when we gather here.Good to see the Truman back up and running again. My sailor son served his time and chose not to reenlist so like b'snuke mom I'll check in and say hi from time to time. It is hard to just leave, especially after a couple deployments and getting to know people both here and at homecoming (one of the most exciting days of our lives).

I hope everyone is doing well
