Thanks - B'sNukeMoM⚓️MM I figured everyone is busy with their sailors being home. My son comes home next week, I guess I will be MIA then too :) Love the letter.
John & Yvonne - that is so nice that you do this for the sailors! A big thank you to you & your husband for your continued support ;-)
wmg4 - sorry no one has responded to your question yet. My son is out of the navy now & getting ready to start college and he has gotten help from the VA counselors at the college (he will be going to ODU eventually). He should ask his command who he should talk to or if he has time take a drive over to ODU. My son said they were very helpful over there. It's great that he is starting classes while he is still in!
Moms,
Now that your sailors are back here safe and sound, my husband and I would like to let you know that we open our home on the weekends and invite them to come over for food and board games; mini golfing(which we did last Saturday evening) . My husband spent 20 years in: 10 enlisted and 10 as a Navy Chaplain. So these sailors are in our hearts!. Please let them know about us. If any of you would like our cell number we can pm it to you. :)
Yvonne and John
Good Morning N4Ms...I have a question for anyone that has a child that started college classes while still on active duty. My son is thinking of taking some classes at ODU and would like any advise on the process. Thanks for the support!!
Talked to my son yesterday - he said the weather in Virginia is miserable right now - very hot & humid (which is normal for this time of year!). We are getting the heat here in SoCal right now too, but thankfully ours is a dry heat lol! He said he was at the homecoming last week & there were even a few people that passed out from the heat. Yikes!
Glad you made it home safe & sound Jacobmom! I too saw the FB story about the MA that was threatened at the gate. What is wrong with people these days?!
Kelsie my son said the Bush is getting ready for the next deployment (the Ike replaced the Truman). The Truman will do any repairs needed from this deployment and then they'll be getting ready for whenever the next deployment is. Remember not to discuss specific dates!
Your husband will have his Navy email and you'll be able to email him on deployment. He won't always respond right away but eventually he will get them. Also when they are in areas where they have wifi you can use different apps to chat. WhatsApp is a good one - that's what my son & I used. I know there are others too....
Safe travels to Myrtle Beach Jacobmom!
TTJ- Like you, we get our sailor home soon for family time, yay!!
JackRussellMom- that's you on the left?
1Bodyprof-glad you introduced yourself homecoming day! The navy mom tag was a great idea, it really worked.
