Cool, I listened to Capt.'s message! I had followed DJ's earlier advice re. FRG - thanks, DJ. Since I wasn't sure when my son might get a chance to email FRG to add me, I emailed FRG myself (with a cc. to my son's ship email address.) DJ mentioned they verify the information and will add you to the list, and they did. Impressive, all that FRG and the Truman team do to help keep us connected.

Thanks, Celeste for the purex tip!! Sounds like a great idea, I'll include some in my next care package.

Kiyum, I've got you beat, Josh graduated in June, bootcamp in July and now on HST :) so proud of all the sailors and what they are doing! Haven't heard from him in about a week either (but his fiancee has) oh well, at least we know he's safe and having a great time.

My son had a great time with two buddies and the french cousins who wined and dined them (beer and pizza!) Colin got them all Truman hats and t-shirts. My cousin said he and his buddies looked great and happy and were wonderful to spend time with. Yeah for franco-american visits!

My baby girl called from France and she finially sounded like her good ole self. She states that it is dirty, and not so friendly. But, we must remember that we are guest in their country. Carry on to your destination, where ever it may be.

I'm new here, but let me start by saying thank you to everyone for all the advice and ecouragement. My cousin is a marine on the Truman, and I really miss him. Getting ready to send my first package. I hope he likes it. I sent a card with it saying whatever he doesn't want or like, share and make a friend! I used the suggestions from all of you regarding what to send, and what not to. Things I never would have thought of! I hope they all are having a good time, and return safely.

lol my wife said the same thing. She said she's just been walking around, and it's really dirty. That's pretty much it. Then she calls me at 2 in the AM, I guess she forgot.
