It just kinda gives us an idea of where they are but not exact. This picture was probably taken several days ago I'm sure and I figured if its on the Navy site then it should be ok to post here.

Comment by StaciBabe just now Delete Comment Hey everyone... I'm sorry everyone is getting a cold.. that sucks!... I went out and bought some Dayquil and Nyquil for my husband... in the pill form... he usually doesn't take meds.. but I figured it wouldn't hurt to try. I am making him something also.. I wanted to buy him a calender to send him.. so he could count down the days... but I couldn't find one good enough.. so I am making him one... There's pictures of me and him together on each month... and it's going to say, "Here, everything month we are together frozen in time", and the last month is just a picture of myself and it's going to say "This month you come home to me".... or something along those lines... I can't think of something cute enough yet... lol...

But it's taken me a couple of days to make, and I am hopefully going to be done tomorrow.. I'm going to go to an Office Supply store... do have them bind the pages together so I can send it out to him...

I have also been keeping track of the packages I sent him.. and so far, they haven't left the states yet... I'm hoping they will by the end of the week..

I already have three other ones to send out to him that are packed and ready to go, I'm going to only send one out a week though, so he can hopefully get one every week or so. I think that would be better then getting them all at once.

I also had a problem with hearing my husband over the phone.. it kinda sucked.. but I was SO glad to hear his voice... he, since then, has set up his cell phone for international calls, so when he gets into port he can call when ever he gets a minute... he said it costs just about as much as calling me from the ship, so no biggy.

Also, saliors can get pictures on their e-mails, as long as they aren't..... dirty... lol... I sent my husband some just of me and things I have been up to while he is gone... he said he loved it.. made him feel like he was right there with me... He put a piture of me as his background on his computer!... I thought that was cute!

Have a great week everyone!!

Thanks quitlady. Can anyone tell me how leave works? Do almost all of them get to leave the ship when they come to a port? Do they have to return each night?

I have a question. For family overseas, for example, in France who want to send a letter/package to my son on the Truman, do they need to add USA to the FPO address? Does anyone know?

Today is my son's 8th wedding anniversary. On his first anniversary he was in Iraq so he missed that one, then he was at sea working on his OOD Underway...missed another. Afghanistan... yep, missed another one. Now he's on Truman. He has a much better record for being home at Christmas.

Sharing a great find- Community Coffee has a military package. Community coffee is not available in all stores across the country but I can tell you that it is good coffee. Online they have a buy 4-1lb bags and the company throws in 4 more. They have different blends available. The shipping is the same as you would pay for a priority box and they ship for you. Your sailor will be very popular if he has a supply of coffee! Even if you do not want to ship direct yourself, it would be a good idea for family who are asking what to send.
check out Communitycoffee.com p.s. I get no commission :-)

I got the same report from my nuc too, Karen. Long hours. Very little sleep. Still upbeat though, doing his job. Mine says he often does not have time to eat so asked for protein power bars and powdered high protein Slim Fast. All grab and go. He did not mention toilet paper but I will put some in my next box. Being prepared in this instance is probably a good thing! Remember when you mail things to put the scented things like deodorant and soap in a zip lock. It keeps the other things in the box from absorbing the scent. Nothing worse than a chocolate chip cookie that tastes like Right Guard!
