Okay... so pretty much just started typing... and wrote a poem... I felt I should write it on here.. it's about the day my husband left for deployment.. I've read it over like 5 times... and I tear up everytime... I hope you guys like it.. and maybe can relate!

Oh the wicked webs we weave, in the darkness is where we lie, chopped up and twisted, as stare into each other eyes, we wonder what time can only tell, separated from this comfortable shell, we live each day apart, truly only together in our hearts, we whisper sweet nothings, and give one last embrace, you kiss me so softly as tears rush down my face, I love you my dear.. and being without you is the only thing I fear, See you soon my love, I say with one last hug, as I watch you leave to answer your call of duty, I will cherish each moment we had, just you and me, until we are together again sweetie, you are always hear with me, truly, forever, and deeply.

Well ladies, as you may or may not know, my husband works in the post office on the ship and he sent me an email this morning and said today was going to be very busy because they are getting their first round of mail! I guess a little earlier than expected! YAY!

My son is on the Truman with his first deployment. I was in Virginia watching it
leave. It seemed to me that I was crying for myself and everybody else. My husband compassionate man that he is commented that I had probably lost
5 lbs in water that day.

Anyway I met a very wonderful woman whose son is a Mairne aboard the Truman. Her name is Tammy Taylor. It was an amazing connection between two people that were proud and hurting at the same time. I would very much like to contact her.

Do any of you know her? Thank you.

I am very new at all of this but I have read a lot of your comments and it is
comforting.

For those of you who have family in Norfolk near the base, did they plan anything for the families of the deployed today? Memorial Day is always a family holiday> It would be nice if there was something going on for the families who are close enough to get together.

So... is it just me... or does everyone else have their email pulled up at all times and refreshing the page every couple of minutes while on the computer?... LoL... I'm obssesed with checking my email now... LoL... I even check it while I'm on with my phone. I think its funny.. lol.

Pat... I do the same thing everytime I get an email...

and I don't get good signal on my phone while I'm downstair in my apartment.. so when I get a phone call I have to run up stairs to answer it...
Well..when he called the other day... you should've seen me.. I shot up so fast off my couch and knocked over a couple of things on my way to the stairs... and I don't think I have ever ran up stairs so fast, with out falling... I totally crack my self up sometimes... lol.

Thought Id share.. hehe.

I hope everyone has a great day!

This is the 3rd deployment that I have been by my husbands side on. As long as you know the boats address the mail will get to them. Just make sure you send it priority and fill out the letter of declaration which just tells you whats in the box. You dont have to put everything on the outside but for the most part.

I sent out the first two care packages yesterday! I will probably send one a week... lol. He only wanted a couple of things... and he's getting a lot more.. I told him to look out for two packages and he was shocked, lol. Also, he tried calling me yesterday, twice, and my phone was set up to reject blocked numbers.. I was so upset... but he called me about two hours ago... the best 4 minutes and 11 seconds ever!... LoL and I swear that either there was a bad echo, or there was a guy standing next to him talking.. because I could barely understand what he was saying... but I still loved it.

PNM when I sent my two packages (1small, 1 medium) I had to fill out forms... I've never had to do that... I'm guessing that it is because it's going to a Navy ship... I had to write down what was in the box, how many of each item, and how much it was. I thought it was kinda weird... but what ever.

Also, I stupidly boxed and taped up his stuff pretty freakin good... and now I have to open all of them and write down what is in them... so yeah, that's gonna be fun, lol.
But from the Mom's that haven't heard anything, I know you're worried... but I know everyone is safe... and everyone is right, they are really busy and not getting too much sleep. The time keeps changing on them, so they loose sleep a lot. Atleast that's what my husband has been saying. The internet has been going down and coming back up, and the water ha been a little choppy... but other then that.. good.

My husband has been taking pictures and he went up on deck today for almost two hours and took pictures and videos of planes coming in and taking off, and the beautiful views... He can't show me now... he said he will probably have to wait until he gets back. But if he can send them before then, I will deff post them!

I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!
