Tomorrow  (21 May) is Armed Forces Day.  I want to thank our sailors for the tough job they do and the families for all they endure while waiting for the safe return of their loved ones.  Please pass along my best regards when you get the chance!  I'm proudly flying my flag tomorrow!

Hi all - Happy Friday!

I believe the rumor you all are talking about is a repeat of the extension that was announced in April.  Here's the link from that:

https://news.usni.org/2016/05/02/navy-endorsed-extending-truman-car...

I don't believe there has been another extension.....and remember, don't post any dates!  OPSEC!

One day closer.....

Hi Ladies, I'm hoping someone can answer my question. We are trying to move to VA when my husband returns with the Truman. So that means I am the one figuring out our housing situation. We have a one month old son as well. I'm trying to look into military housing through Lincoln Military Housing and I was wondering if the military will take all of our BAH if we choose to go that route regardless if the place we choose through LMH rent's is less? Meaning if they are advertising a place in the Stanley Court community at $995/month and our BAH is $1500/month, do we still get the difference or do they keep all $1500 even though the rent is less? Hopefully that makes sense. My husband is hearing different things from people on the ship and I have to organize everything so I'm trying to find out the correct info.

Please let it be a rumor.  They are all so worn out.

Any idea what the "disappointing news" is?

Hi all - Happy Thursday! I thought this was funny....hopefully no one takes offense.

Sheis22 - I don't have that pendant - it's just a picture I saw on the internet & liked it!  If you go to Etsy and type in "One Day Closer" all sorts of items pop up.  I'm sure you'll find something there (or many something's lol!) that you will like.

Hang in there ladies, you are one day closer!
