Hi all - Happy RED shirt Friday and Happy Halloween!

So glad the weekend is here!

Don't forget we change the clocks this weekend - Fall Back!  And remember to change the batteries in your smoke alarms too ;-)

Hi all - Happy Almost Friday!

too tall - glad I can make you laugh ;-)

I'm thinking maybe I'll just start walking again - it will be good for me and hopefully I can convince hubby to walk with me!  It's just so hard after coming home from work....getting dinner ready & then it's dark - ugh!  And we change the clocks this weekend so it will be even darker!! :(  When my sailor left for BC 3 years ago I jumped rope....then I quit that.  For a while I would run up & down my stairs for 15 minutes.  I did that over the summer before we went to Mammoth (wanted to make sure I would be able to do the hikes!).  My problem is I don't stick with anything....I'm just going to do it this time - I figure since my son will be on deployment the least I can do is pick something and stick with it!  I'll use his deployment as my incentive....wish me luck!

B'sNukeMoM love your cartoons, today's cracked me up. I have never been a runner except when I had too when I played high school sports many moons ago. However I started walking & cutting carbs back at the end of last school year & have lost 30 lbs. I started small goal (10 lbs) & keep going. I now walk 35 minutes/4 days a week. Harder to find the e since school is in session. Good luck with whatever you choose to do

Hi all - Happy Wednesday!

I'm trying to come up with something to keep me busy while they are on this deployment (besides work!).  I'm not into running so that is NOT an option lol!  Any suggestions?  I suppose I could start walking - I just need a goal....and something to keep my mind busy ;-)

Hi all - Happy Tuesday!

too tall Joan  & letyrod - enjoy your time with your sailors!  And Happy 21st Birthday to yours letyrod! Our visit went way to fast ~~sigh~~

BoomMom - glad your sailor got to spend time with his wife & new son.  Hard to believe his son could be close to walking when he returns!  Wow - that really puts the whole deployment in perspective!

JakesMom - my son said wifi in port will be the best option for communication (besides ship emails).  He's putting his cell phone on military suspension when he leaves.

I saw the info about the ornaments from the FRG but wasn't able to get it done....sounds like you did one BoomMom - I hope yours was one that was accepted!

After taking every day of leave available to be with his wife and new son, my son has finally gone back to work today.  I think he was ready for guy time :)  So happy for all of you who will be able to spend time with your sailors.  B'sNuke mom... great picture!  Thanks for the calling card advice.  I will add it to a box (of which he asked for toilet paper.?., skittles, athletes food spray, etc.)  Interesting list.  It will be interesting to see if any of us got our White House Ornament accepted... and if they get them back at some point.  Have a good night, all.

B'sNukeMoM love the pic and glad you had a good time. This leave time is bittersweet and will have to do us all for awhile

JakesMom mostly emails. They can also get calling cards to call from if time available. When they are in port my sailor will always go somewhere that has wifi and Skype & fb
