Thanks everyone! I do appreciate the support and advice from everyone. Everyone gives their opinions in different ways, I respect that. GrandmaBarB, you have had much more experience than me. This is my first son to leave and mine & my husband's 1st time being a military family.

momdad, Thanks for your kind words as well. You definitely come from a military family! I thank each and every one of them.

I know my venting about my son was longer than I expected so for several of you to read my comment and respond was more than I expected. Thanks to you all!!!

Amber sorry your going through this experience with your son. Hopefully he will come around. Just l remind him how much you all love him and want the best for him and that you will always be there for him. And remember we are here for you too.

May God continue to bless all our sailors.

Amber: I think most, if not all boys go through this (Navy or not)! My son went through a period of "rebelling" around the same age! And that was before going into the Navy! My brother also went through this stage in his twenties! Most go through this when they go away to college! First time away from mom's eyes! Hang in there! He'll grow and learn and come out of this a stronger man! It's just hard on us moms watching our babies make their own decisions, good and bad!

My intent wasn't to hurt anyone.  Amber asked for advice. I've raised a housefull of kids, have grsandkids and am pushing 75....that is experience.

She may certainly do as she wishes.

Meanwhile........
