Good Morning all - WAVY news is reporting an aircraft fire on the flight deck of the Truman. 2 were injured but they are reporting nothing serious. This is why they practice & practice - thank God it wasn't more serious. Extra prayers going up for the crew of the Truman and those injured. Stay safe!

Hooray - my sailor's going to be able to make it to his sister's wedding and a massive family reunion. Hooray for engine troubles :)
Oh - new babies to be - how exciting! I hope it all works out for the sailors to be there ;-)
Jacobsmom - Tell your sailor not to worry about missing the first part of the deployment - there will still be plenty of time left for him lol! But for his sake I hope it works out how he wants ;-)
Have a great day!
Good morning! I haven't been on in awhile. I hope you're all doing well! We want to be there for send off!!! I know they'll be busy, but I hope we can meet for breakfast, lunch, dinner or something or somewhere close to base! We will have fun for sure! Have a great week !
I would love to try to get together when they leave! My sailor says that we probably wouldn't get to see him but I said that I want to see the ship leave & return. Even if we don't see each other, all he just has to know I'm there watching him leave if god permits!
Hello all. I believe my son would jump as well. As far as anchor's away, maybe the ombudsmen would post something before hand. I would think it would als be in the monthly newsletter. Keep in mind that the Date or weekend of deployment would/should never be posted in this forum, but I assume our sailors will let us know. I'd love to be there to support him and his wife (and will by then have an almost 2 month old son...). It will be very difficult for him to leave so we'd like to be a support for the 2 of them. With the next underway being longer than the current one, it appears he may NOT make it back for the birth unless they (mom and baby) hold out a few extra days and the ship returns a couple days earlier than scheduled. I pray so, for them. Have a wonderful Monday evening all.
