Good luck to the Hopper!  This is our first deployment too...very anxious, but excited for them.  I would love to view that article too!

My son gave me the impression he could e-mail fairly regularly.  Is there a reason he couldn't?  I know they can't give any information as to where they are; but it's always a good way to stay in touch.

the 15th is coming quickly. Prayers to all on the USS Hopper and our sailors.  Im nervous, but my sailor is excited.  First time deployment! looks like the Hopper has many first timers.  Im so thankful for this group, its nice to have the connection and support.

Thanks,

April

Does anyone Know if my sailor can have another blanket or sleeping bag in her rack. I know there must be some regulation about this. These things probably need to be fire resistant.  She complains about being cold in her rack.  I cant stand my kid being cold.  This is going to be her first deployment.  Im sure she has other things on her mind more important than a blanket. I know I have bunches of things running through my mind.

Prayers for all our Sailors!

April

Patty J--if you want to stay in touch, I'd be happy to.  We are both "in the same boat"--so to speak.  I don't know why I'm so nervous...my son is so excited.  I'm sure it will be quite an adventure for them & I should be excited about that.

I'm interested in chatting with any other moms with sailors on the Hopper.  Please check out my page & leave a message if you are interested.  I can't really find a group of moms in my area to meet with--are there no other Illinois sailors out there???

Dillon's Mom--the Navy will take care of all the flight stuff if he has to catch up with his ship.  But it is a good idea to have the passport, I'm sure.  He will do fine--it's harder on us moms.

He may miss the ship--but they may fly him to a port to catch up with it.  This happened to Ryan when he first got to Hawaii & the ship was coming home from deployment.

I am Ryan's mom & I believe the Hopper goes out April 15.  He's been assigned to the ship for a year & loves it.  This will be his first deployment.  He's excited...I'm nervous.
