For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Aloha! My son is on the Hopper. He's new to the Navy. We live in Hawaii, but have not heard from him since he deployed two months ago. We have boxes of local snacks and his birthday and Christmas gifts to send, but don't have the address. Do you have the mailing address

I would love to follow your Facebook group for Hopper moms. Let me know how to do that please. I seem to be handling this deployment much better than last time. I've seen more pictures posted of my son & that helps so much to see him enjoy what he is doing. Happy Thanksgiving to your family!

I have been away for awhile but back! Hope all is well and everyone is getting ready for the holidays! This is the first Thanksgiving and Christmas absent my son :( ! I'm sad but know that he is having a great experience...

Yes she is she joined end of July ...she's a OS (operation specialist) lol that's what she called it too. Her birthday is on the 20 will her box get there by then if it's mailed tomorrow?

That's great I've gotten emails from Lauren from the ship or calls in port but the service isn't that good. She loved the last port also! I missed her call the other morning it was 130am my time my phone was dead. But that's when she's typically called me. She has kitchen duty for the next 87 days she said. She's definitely more positive now though she was having a hard time adjusting before.

I FINALLY talked to Ryan on FB last night. It was so good to get that confirmation that he's ok. He said they were settling into a routine & that he liked their last port a lot. He's looking forward to the next one. I made a deal with him when he joined the Navy that each new port--I would get a gift or keepsake. He did really well this time! Just thought you'd all like to know things seem to be going well. The time difference makes it hard for them to communicate.

I want to send a care package but where do I send it and what is the protocol? How long does a package to get to Hawaii/Ship?

Hi again! It's Mary-Ryan's mom. It's been quite awhile for me to be on here; but I'm so happy to see it active again. This is Ryan's 2nd deployment--so I am doing much better this time around. I guess I will have to get a package off to him soon too. You all are on top of things! Ryan is an STG2--sonar. I know he feels much more confident this time around. It will be a long deployment...so I am sure I will be following this site & making new friends. Holidays & birthdays are hard without our sailors; but we have to remember they have a job to do & tell them how proud we are of them.
