Hello All! Been awhile... Tommy said he received his pkg. last wk. This wk. will send oreos, sketch pad, tracing paper, and a book on how to play those 4 harmonicas he took in lieu of guitar. Yesterday and today am having family send emails regarding their location when Neil Armstrong landed on the moon. Gives a good historical reference for them. Not to mention appreciation. We have such good kids, don't we!!!!!!

My son arrived on the Dunham last Sunday. This is his first deployment, I would appreciate any advise on what to send him.

Hi Ronda, yes my son did get his pin along with your daughter.  So proud of them all.  Yes, I did get the picture.  I got the picture before my son could confirm with me that he had gotten it.

Maddie, seems the blues come and go.  I get them also...but then I'll get an email and picks me up for a while.  Even the shortest emails lift me up..unfortunately I haven't been lucky enough to talk with him but as long as the emails keep coming I'll be happy.

Seems the mail may be picking up a bit.  Getting ready to drop another package myself.  I try to make each package a little different.  But snacks are high on his list...lol   I've been pulling different ideas from all the post on here.  Great to have everyone sharing information.

Have a great day !!!

Just heard from my son. He says all is well. He said he bought an app for his cell phone...500 min. for $10. It was kinda hard to hear, a lot of noise in background but was just so good to hear his voice. :-)

Guess I'm lucky my son is married? He must ask his wife for exactly what he needs. So far I only need to find some sheet music. lol  MissMySailor, too funny about the dryer! ..... but it could be a possibility.

In future care packages you may want to include things like Tylenol, cold meds, cough drops, band-aids, melatonin (helps you sleep without drugging you!), chapstick, etc... anything that would help him feel better with a cold or minor aches & pains. So far my son has asked for lens wipes (for his glasses), CDs, earbuds, pens & pencils, erasers, and chocolate covered espresso beans! lol I also send the Sunday comic section... his favorite part of the paper!  I try to include 1 small random/ silly item that I know he will get a laugh out of when he sees it. Hope Alex has settled in. My son joined the ship mid-March. The transition was sudden but he likes where he is!
