Hi Sue, Yes when on facebook just put USS Jason Dunham in the search at the top of the page.

I have to say I am very impressed with the people on this ship. I e-mailed the Ombudsman with a question and she was answerening me within an hour. Yesterday my password would not work on the family site I e-mailed them and he e-mailed me and spent 30 minutes on the phone fixing the problem, he was the nicest man and said he understood how important it was for us families to be on there and feel fart of the ship. His mom should be proud and I will say his name started with Sc for the mom out there who might be reading this.

We all met Leila the other day and we "friended" each other and began chatting the we found out later that evening my son is good friends with her boyfriend!!!! My son called last night laughing says N4M you women do get to know each other! He really thought that was cool and I think it gave him a warmer sence like we are part of a family, he just seemed different.

I have heard the bad and the good from every one shocked I was happy my son went Navy. I have to say my so is happy he loves what he is doing and who he is doing it for and with. The officers and supervisors must be doing it right because my son says he gives 110% and is so tired at the end of the day but then he laughs and says it is all good mom, it's a great ship and I am happy I am here.

Thanks for listening just happy to be a Navy mom.

You are such a help. See my son is 20yrs old and does not think of stuff like that which drives me nuts. In fact his cell phone broke and all I want is an address so I can overnight a new one he said he has asked his superior but is not getting an answer as to what address and how I address it to get it to him and that is hard because I have to wait until he calls to talk to him. My son has a great work ethic gives 110% every day but always thinks he is a bother if he asks to many questions not related to the Navy, I guess that is his age. He needs to lighten up as he loves the Navy and wants to make this long term. Thanks again

Can you give us time and place of the commissioning on Nov 13th? My son has a habit of waiting to the last minute. Thanks Paula

Thanks for the welcome. My son is home on leave before he reports to Norfolk. He is so excited to get to Norfolk, he has 6 friends from A school all with orders for DDG 109 they all are Boatswains Mates, I wonder with the ship so big if they will be bunked ear each other? I can not wait to visit I hear it is a very nice place to vacation. Take care

Hi all,
My son graduated A school last Friday, he is a Boatswain Mate. He will be reporting to USS Jason Dunham in about 2 1/2 weeks. We live in a suburb of Chicago so the drive is not too bad which is a good thing because with this being so new thing I am sure I will want to visit as much as possible. I also herd the area is very pretty too.
I am glad to be part of this group and look forward to getting to know you all. Take Care
