Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

So excited - I am from New York so am really looking forward to seeing my son during fleet week - just wish they were not in Staten Island (ugh!)

Hi -  my name is also Linda - my son has been on the Kauffman fir about 9 months - he came right from Great Lakes A school but got 2 weeks leave to come home first - check to see if that is what your son is going to get. My son also does not do details well - so I understand!

Hey Rhonda, it was great to meet you and Cindy also. It was amazing watching the ship come in. We left Christmas evening to beat the storm and I am so glad we did - it is indeed a winter wonderland in NY!! Happy and healthy New Year to all!

Can anyone give me the family website to go on and the facebook name that I need to use to have some type of communication..I apologize for my posts.  I thought these were private posts and I saw where other people had posted dates and things...I am very frustrated right now...I have not heard from my son since Nov 8th this year and I at least want to know that he is ok....Can you someone help me?

Hey everyone! 

 

I am new to this Kaufmann site and have not heard from my since Nov 8th from facebook..Is it true that it is coming into port on Dec 22nd?  Are yall able to correspond with your family members or are they under security to where they cannot contact us?
