OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Today's summit left a foul taste in my mouth. If the government shuts down so would troop pay. Personally I think our troops deserve NFL pay but that's just me.
And Welcome Hawkmom! I'm usually not great with saying hi so much.

Welcome Hawkimom! Your son may be in the same shop with my daughter since she is a CTR. I get short emails from her too but I know that they are busy.

Well, thank you. I have been reading posts here since November and gleaning info after we learned our son, 19-y/o from Iowa, was being assigned to this ship after he finished his A School in Pensacaola. He is in IT. He made it to the ship in the middle of Feb. What a deployment this has been!!!  I am almost on overload with all the world events to date... keeping my fingers and toes crossed and trying to think happy thoughts... Dad and I worry a lot about him, but he seems to be holding up in the short e-mails we do get from him. Go Navy!

My thoughts and prayers are with the people and our Navy in the Pacific.

It was a Marine article about the 22nd MEU from the Jacksonville Daily News . Don't want to break any rules but if you read it thru it all makes sense.

Had not heard from my daughter for a while either and finally got a very short email. I too am sure that they are very busy. The news does not sound very positive. Keep praying!
