Hooyah to all of our sailors, Marines! I love them all and I am proud of them all. All the servicemen in the military are my heros! I am so thankful that I have a son that is among them. He will be safe and he can kick some butts too. I think they are all in Gods strong hands.

We are all in there too.

Aw, that's sweet. My daughter Is anAO so she is involved with guns, bombs, etc. She has been safe, even on the last deployment she was on, when they went ashore for humaniterian ( can't seem to spell today) work in Columbia under armed guard.  Each and every member of the militry no matter what branch, are my hero's and I make sure that I thank each and every one of them for their service.   Large,  my daughter coul do some real harm if she needed to., but is also the most sweet and caring young women i know, and a super mom to boot. Hooyah!

I agree with Polli K too. I look at my daughter like I see her in my avatar pic though even though she has some big guns (arms) for a lady and I know she can whip some a$$ if need be.
I want her safe though. I want her in that ship at all times. I don't want her to see a dead body. I don't want her to have to shoot anybody.
Yes it all sounds selfish in my part because she knew what she signed up for. She's my hero, people. My hero.

I agree with Polli K.  We'll hold all of them in our prayers, hope for the best and handle whatever happens.  God Bless.

I am sorry that you all are having a hard time with this deployment! I wish that the "boat" was going on a Club med. cruise, but the reality is that that is not what the military does. Both my daughter(Navy) and my son-in-law(Marines)  also feel your pain, but have pointed out to me that that the ship is the safer place to be.. My son-in law was in Afganistan as a helio crew chief and pilot, and trust me that was a lot more scary than being on the ship.  I am not trying to minimize anyone's feelings, but our awesome young men & women were told several times what Navy and Marine life would be like. I know this because i was with my daughter at the recruiters  4 years ago, many times when the two recruiters made sure she knew exactly what sea duty would be like.  She was 17 at the time and signed up anyway.  We are all proud of the sacrifices they and their families have.  My son-in-laws squad got home in Aug. of 2010 and some of them have been redeployed again.. Fortunately at this time my s-i-law isn't going , but you never know. Take care and we are all in this together.  It will be o.k.

Sorry for this rant. I know we have to be careful what we say but when I google and find information as recent as today that gives us a clue to the dangers our Sailors and Marines how can we NOT worry that this little bit of news involves our ship?
This is just making me a wreck.
I know my daughter is safe. I know the Navy will go above and beyond to keeping the safety of our children but when I can google something and find a wealth of information that will jeopardize our kids in any way I wish articles like this would never ever even get out.
