Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Anyone know if the kearsarge is involved in any way?

I hope this link is okay. I'm sorry if it isn't but I found it rather easily.

I didn't hear about the hazing, rape or the beating up of the sailor. where was it at? I can't believe it. That is just awful.

Welcome New Comers! This is a great group.

Have a great rest of the week.

Congrats, Cheryl!  My son was just pictured in a Dvids picture. Happy mom!

My son was head of the head (bathroom) in Basic.  Another job nobody would want, but, important.  He now quotes my husband, "Life's about the corners."  Anybody can make it look nice, but do the corners and people notice.

All jobs are important.  The whole group can't function if they're missing a part.  Glad you got to see your son's group!

I know my girl can take care of herself. She had also mentioned some people there starting to act their age with the college level humor but man I wish they would wise up and especially with violating another. I hope she can be strong for her friends. She sounds strong for me. I do hope she really is as strong as she let us out to think.

Did any of you get news that some of the Marines were being offloaded?

MMMM Sissi, we love making a pork roast in the slow cooker with sauerkraut and then having dumplings with it.

I read this a while because I didn't know about Navy beans too.

Did some grocery shopping today looking for pinto beans.
I found Navy beans.
I bought a can.
They have Navy beans.
I just stood there staring at this can.
I didn't know I was blocking the hallway.
