DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

My son's name is Alex too.  My Alex is in Damage Control.  He graduated A school at the end of October, had his leave then flew to Bahrain, then the ship.  He hasn't been deployed as long as everyone else.  He seems to really enjoy the ship.  I have no idea when they should be coming back to Norfolk, guessing April or May, based on my husband's experience when he was in the Navy, 100 years ago.  Thanks for the Hello!

Just saying Hello, new to this group.  My son joined the Kearsarge out of A school in November.  Glad to see this group and thanks for the info on setting up voice mail.

Good morning Ladies!  My daughter FINALLY informed me that she LOVES getting the voicemail messages from friends and family!!  I figured once she started listening to the messages it would be a good thing!  I encourage you all to set up a vm box for your son or daughter.  Go to K7.net and walk thru the prompts for VM.  Reminder you are setting up the information on behalf of your son/daughter so you need to use THIER email address and a select a password for them.  K7 will send a confirmation email to them.  Then send  out the number to family and friends!  I've gotten several txt message from people who have left messages!  Its a great way for them to show support during th Christmas season :-)   Have a great day!
