Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
Everyone please all pray that our loved ones won't get tied in to this North/south Korea Conflict. Man this is just stressful to me.

Found my girl in the recent pics dancing. She looked to have lost a lot of weight. You can see it in her face.
Now I miss her more than anything. :(

I thought it was funny today when my daughter asked us to send Cup Of Noodles. The things we take for granted! That should be a rather light package.

I don't know about the morale on the ship so I really can't comment on it.. When my daughter and I email I am pretty much giving her information on what is going on here and she asks questions and responds to that. Due to security I never ask her anything about the ship. I know that she had said before they left that they would not be able to have leave at hardly any ports. She was on the humantarian mission in '08 also and I know that this one is completely different. She just found out her next duty station will be in Everett, WA and land based so we have been emailing a lot about that. She won't detach from the Kearsarge until June and will have her instructor training in Norfolk. Sent her Xmas box more that a week ago. It has been taking about a month for her to get them. I know that her husband sends them too but she hasn't said how long it takes for her to get them. I am just not that excited about the holidays with her being gone and my other daughter in college and not able to get home very often. Praying that everyone on the ship stays safe.

Cheryl my daughter e mailed us and said her biggest gripe is missing us so much. I had just became a grand dad and she hasn't met her new nephew so that's kinda hard. She didn't talk about morale though because she says that she cannot talk at all about what is going on there so maybe the very fact that everyone has to make sure no one divulges info that will throw them all back into river city is what's giving them the low morale? I don't know. But I do know that there are some rather young sailors on board so I would assume discipline problems would be common thing. And when you think about it our sailors were supposed to go on LIBERTY before this deployment and they never got it so that too could be another cause.
But she assured me she's okay and she's getting really fit so I just thank each and every day because it's one day closer to seeing my little girl again.

Cheryl, the USS Nassau is a sister ship to the Kearsarge. They were one of the ships who's deployment started right when the earthquake happened in Haiti. They did not have a port call for over five months. Sometimes, that is just what happens. I don't know about the morale, but I"m sure having the same day repeated over sixty times is getting to them. I know the Fun Boss tries really hard to break the monotony up with events.

Thanks for all the support you give everyone here! I need to make a correction. My girl just turned 18.

Selfishly I'm a bit happy our sailors won't be porting at some country where Taliban could be around. But I agree it's a long time.
Some ending lyrics to what's turning into one of my favorite songs:

The poor cook he caught the fits
And threw away all my grits
And then he took and he ate up all of my corn
Let me go home
Why don't they let me go home
This is the worst trip Ive ever been on

So hoist up the john bs sail
See how the mainsail sets
Call for the captain ashore
Let me go home, let me go home
I wanna go home, let me go home
Why don't you let me go home

This is crazy. My girl just turned 19.
