Thanks ladies for your support and prayers during this rough time. Sissi I hope you have a speedy recovery. DCT Mom I am praying for your grandmother. Also,Lori I am sorry to hear about your grand son and mother. I will keep each of you in my prayers. I will keep all of you and your families in my thoughts and prayers. I know that the holidays coming are really trying me too. But, we will get through this because we have each other and our families. Our sons/daughters are far away but they are safe. That is a very good thing to be thankful for. Hope you all have a great day tomorrow!

Hi. My name is Jenn. I want to thank everyone of you for your thoughts and prayers. Just knowing that I raised such a strong son is a small bit of comfort to me. I do know that he has his Kearsarge family and friends. I know he isn't completely alone. Alot of times we feel somewhat selfish ourselves just wanting him to be close to us at a time like this. I miss him and I am really so glad that I got to talk to him. That was such a relief to me. Again, thank you again.

Hi Ladies and Gent! Welcome Ann! I am sorry I haven't said much. I have been kinda sitting on the sideline reading whats been going on. I am so sorry for the loss of Oreo. I just had to do something that I didn't want to do. I had to tell my son that his grandpa passed away this morning. I feel just awful about it. I did get to talk to him night before last. It was so great to hear his voice. To know for sure that he was alright. But, I had to tell him that his papa was sick and wasn't going to make it through the week. He is my stepson...His real mom's family wanted to have the Red Cross to notify him this morning to tell him that he passed away, but that just didn't seem right.I am his mom and have been for along time...his own family hasn't wanted anything to do with him for along time.It was my place and his real mother called me and asked me to let him know. She lost custody of him when he was 8 years old.So, that is what I did. I dont know what i need right now. I just know that this is a support group and I just needed to talk about it with other moms that had kids on the Kearsarge. I was hanging pretty good on this deployment. This is our 2nd.But now...but now I am not. He is alone (not completely) so far away dealing with this news...I wish I could wrap him in my arms and let him know that I am here. That the pain will go away with time. But, I cant...He is so far away. I cant take care of him right now. Anyway, thanks for letting me spat about it...You guys are great.

I love reading the Sailor in the Spotlight when I know that they are the son or daughter from someone on this website! Then we get to say how great they are. Nice story, Julie. My husband and I each got a call from Kim on our birthdays. It was so nice to hear her voice that I cried. It was the best birthday gift that I got!
