OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

No, it does not refer to any location; its a operational status. Please be cautious when stating places that they ship might be at.

The ship will be River City (communications are off for about 80% of the ship) until tomorrow...hopefully.

Yeah, I checked out the site too. I don't know what they are talking about...the media. I haven't heard anything either. I am hoping just a warning. Thanks for your support.

To NavyMom2010, I know how frustrating it can be to not hear from your son. I hear from mine but sometimes it can be a day or so. Secondly, He wont tell me anything about anything. I know more from these ladies here than from him and it is discouraging. I am sure that he will write soon. Hang in there!
He is from the Medical Dept.and he said that he hasn't been in that dept much this whole deployment. So, I am a mess. I miss him so much and the tears just want to come and I am trying not to get myself upset. I don't know what to think.
