Welcome NavyMom2010! I am new to this too. Although, this is my son's second deployment I didn't know anything about this site or anything about anything....LOL. It is such a relief to know that there are other moms out there that meet here to help each other out and to guide us new folks...I hear from my son about every other day. I try to write to him daily. It is such a relief to know that he is Ok. Thanks everybody.

Hi Ladies, I will be praying for our sons/daughters and I will be praying for that group also. I would love to know where my son is. But, I will just wait and find out later....His safety is my first concern.

Ladies, since there are so many people on the ship now the internet is limited to certain things, sadly Skype is one of those things that may not happen on the ship. Things might change when they are in port and when the internet is less 'busy'.

Hey Ladies, I am new to this site. My son just deployed and I wasn't able to be there when he left. Is there somewhere I could go to see more pictures of the sailors...maybe I could get a glimpse of him. Also, I know they aren't allowed to tell us where they are,but is there a way for us to know close to where they are. I am so proud of my son as I am sure you are all proud of your son/daughter.

JulieR - Pakistan is 9 hours ahead from the Eastern Time Zone. I thought that's what my daughter had told me then I googled it just to make sure.
I don't know all the ports of call but agree we shouldn't share that publicly. I know from previous deployments that we often won't know the port til they've left that area.
Hope everyone's having a great day!
