I know of a lot of wives and sailors themself that are upset over it, so they are trying to talk to everyone they can to show that they want it rescheduled and the sailors I talked to said if the CO sees how many people really wanted this they might reschedule it.

Sam, oh yes! Kenny can teach Lucas how to get up and start moving, he's just got to figure out how to get his arms to move with his legs and he's all good! Right now he's just putting his legs down and pushing off with his legs!

Thanks all for the congrats on Kims promotion. I will pass them along to her. I guess that I am lucky I have a daughter who passes along information that she is allowed to give. She had told us about the family cruise right away and is so excited that we are able to come. Especially since her husband is going to be gone that week and she would not have anyone there otherwise. It sounds like they have a lot of activites and demonstrations planed. We had to provide two emergency contacts and any medication that we were on. I know Kim was worried because you can't have had a heart attack within the prior six months and her dad had one the beginning of December so he is just past that mark. Nothing serious, more just a mild wake up for him.

Congrats to your daughter Pat!! you must be so proud, but then we are all proud of out sailors.
Hope everyone enjoys the family cruise. it is just to far of a drive for us to go to both. But we will be there when they come back from deployment. It is a 13 hr. drive for us. Where do you live Sindy?

Thanks. I was reading on the website for advancement that it was looking pretty tight for advancement. I know for 2nd class they said that it is the tightest it has been since 1997 and the percentage that were advanced was only like 10%. Kim passed the test for 1st class when she took it the first time but not high enough so there weren't enough billets for her to advance. Keep encouraging Josh. Sorry that the Kearsarge is losing him. Bet it is sad going out knowing it is going to be the last time with those shipmates.

My husband and I will be going on the family cruise. We too get in Friday afternoon. We are looking forward to visiting our daughter for a couple days afterwards. She just made first class so a little celebration is in order I think.
