Hi guys! Heard from my son (on USS Lassen) this weekend and he sounded pretty down in the dumps. Sounds like they've been working them pretty hard lately. Anyone else experiencing any "depressed & tired" phone calls from their sailors? Just checking to see if it's only mine :) - or if they are all going through a hard time right now. Thanks!
Hi NavyMomE57 - My name is Betty and my son Austin is on the Lassen as well. He has been on there since October. We live in Georgia. We were going to go to Japan to visit him this Summer, but it looks like they won't be there long enough to warrant a visit. I guess we will have to wait until next Summer instead.
My daughter joined the crew in December. I would be nice to meet other Lassen sailor Moms.
Has anyone heard yet if holiday leave has been approved - or delayed?
Hope all you Lassen moms get to hear from your sailors at holiday time! we facebook with our sailor almost everyday - its a great way to communicate :) I know thay have all been working hard to get the ship in shape. Sending prayers to all of them and to all of your families - God bless!!
Hi - Hope all of you had a great & happy Thanksgiving! I talked to my son over the weekend and he sounded exhaused - they've been working alot of 14 hrs. days. without alot of days off. So I have a question for the "experienced" moms on this site - is this pretty normal working hours? I'm just curious if this is the same for everyone on the ship. Let me know your thoughts. - Thanks!
My son just found out that he is going to be on the USS Lassen starting in about 4 weeks. I'm really excited for him. We might be planning a trip to Japan next summer to see him.
Thanks for the info. If we don't hear from him, maybe some other time.
Yes, my son called this morning. It was great to hear from him. The communication seemed to be fine for us. Of course, I had to go to work and couldn't talk long, missed my shower but like I told everyone who comment on my hair. Oh well, my son called so I sacificed my shower for his call.
