Musicmom, the ship is currently out to sea right now, but has he tried contacting his sponsor, or chain of command via email?  They should be able to help him.

Hello everyone - My son is heading for the Lassen this week. He is having some trouble with the military transport from Seattle Sea-Tac.  He got there only to find out his name isn't on any transport lists so he showed them his orders.  Then he found out there isn't another transport til Sept 7.  He got to Seattle Sept 1.  Kind of a mess.

Hi lovinmysailor* - not sure what his rate is but he's classified as ET.  Does that help?  That's exciting that you're going over there.  I'm hoping I get to visit sometime.

Hey rominpa! So glad to have another Lassen family member on the site! Welcome:) i have yet to get to Japan myself, but will be early next year, and yes, from what I've heard Yokosuka is a great place! My fiancé has finally started to love it over there, and he felt part of the "family" within a week. What is your sons rate?

Hi ladies!  I'm new to this site.  My son received orders recently for the Lassen - so I thought you all probably have alot of knowledge to share.  He's very excited - but I'm a little nervous about him being so far away.  From what I've read from all of your earlier posts, it sounds like life is pretty good over there, so I'm sure he'll be fine.  Just wanted to introduce myself.

oh just saw your request! facebook doesnt always tell me everything lol

we havent set an official date but are hoping for april. as soon as it gets closer and we have some idea of a schedule when he'll be in port around that time we can decide.

but oh i want to visit so badly! but unfortunately the main reason he is even in the navy is to have stability financially...which is something i have none of right now, meaning there is almost no way i could afford to come. on top of that the money would probably be better spent preparing to come over permanently, as much as i hate to say that :/ that is so wonderful that they have been so great to you though, i think that really will make things even better as well. but one of my main goals in life has always been to try out new cultures, and just enjoy various places in the world, so God really knew what He was doing putting me and my fiancé together lol, it worked out great!

oh and i never got your friend request! maybe you could try again, im not sure how to find you or i would

I would hope so! :)  When is the big day?  I remember ours like it was yesterday.  <3

I really hope you love Japan when you get here.  Are you planning on visiting before the wedding?  The ship has come a long way since we got here last year, and CO and XO have done all they can to keep the crew and their families happy.  I can only hope that continues when you get here, if so, I think it'll make your time here even better.
