My sailor really does love japan, thanks for asking! Says theyre a lot more hospitable than Americans! He's getting more accustomed to the ship and just his job in general, so I think it's going really well for him. I'm excited for him to be out to sea and enjoying it, he's dreamed of this for a while now. He has been very busy, but I'm hoping that he can relax a little once they get in port. How has your sailor been? And has he been with the Lassen for a while?

Well it's nice to meet you Kelsey!  I'm Haley!  Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I hope you're looking forward to coming to Japan, it's a beautiful country! Please let me, the FRG President or the Ombudsmen know if you need anything at all or have any questions about your move...or anything else for that matter. :)

Hello ladies, I am not a Navy mom but I am the wife of a USS LASSEN sailor and I am also on the board for our FRG.  We are just getting up and running and I really wanted to pass the information along to you.  I ran across this site by accident but I am beyond thrilled that LASSEN has a group here.  It's always wonderful to see the families of the crew pulling together.  In case you haven't found our FRG fan page...we are on Facebook at www.facebook.com/usslassen82frg

We're going to hold fundraisers in the future to benefit the crew and LASSEN'S families and this is just another way for the Mothers and other family members to stay up to date on the ship and the events we'll be planning.  Plus, some of the things we do you can participate in, even from the US.

Again, I know this site is for Navy Moms, but I really wanted to tell you all about our FRG page if you haven't found us yet.  I can't imagine what it's like to have your child so far from home...you ladies are truly an inspiration!

yea, im sure the time change will be a challenge! he actually didnt sleep much on the way over, which was hard but i think it probably helped him get on track a little. i got to hear from him in an email this morning, that was great. hopefully skype will let us see each other soon :) and yea, its definitely a good thing that he gets to be acquainted with the area and culture so he can teach me what i need to know lol.

Hi, everyone: I never hear any news from the Lassen from my son, the great non-communicator, so I hope I can get a little support and news from other moms whose sailors are there. It's hard to wonder and worry but he just does not (or cannot) keep in touch.
