My daughter is on the Leyte Gulf.  This is our first deployment.  We didn't get to see her off, but definately plan to be there when they come home.  She's our only child so I'm definately an empty nester.  Trying to stay busy to help keep my mind off the months ahead.  It seems like such a long time until I'll see her again.  I'm excited that she's going to get to see and experience things so many places and cultures.  Very proud too of all of them.   but honestly a little sad and lonely.

Yes I do understand how you feel. I feel like a piece of my heart is gone. But he will see places he would had never been able to see. I know God is watching over them and hope the time will go by fast.

Great!! Their is someone else out there. I am so glad you have joined me. I was unable to attend the farewell. My daughter in law was there but left before they left since she can't see him. I will be at the welcome home. Maybe we can get some more loved one on here. Welcome we will keep each other going during this time.
