I am not on facebook but what is FRG page?

Comment by Cath Bubblehead mom on January 16, 2015 at 12:06am
The FB page is hidden. The FRG page is not and easier to be a part of. But neither will add you until your sailor actually reports.

There is an FRG page and a boat page you can ask to be a part of and they will add you when he checks into the command! :-)

Thanks for the FBinvite LorieS! I think I will wait till I know for sure.  Is Mary still on dry dock being worked on? or now active? Wow, it sounds like your son earned his dolphins in less than year! Congrats and sending all my best regards to him and other MD'submariners

He's also a STS or Sonar, just like your son:)

No problem - that's how we all learn! What is your son's rate? Mine is Sonar.

Noted. Thank you soooo much Cath Bubblehead mom! Sorry to ask too many questions :/

Orders can change! One of his buddies, the week of graduation was held up from his assignments because of a reaction he had 4 months prior to shellfish. They let him graduate, but he was transferred to the surface fleet. He still has not left Groton!

Nothing is definite until they report. Which is probably why the FB people want to verify.

Thanks Cath Bubblehead mom!  Any info on the sub & patrol duty? do order likely changes close to graduation? when will our sailors find out whether they'll be in gold or blue crew? Do they complete their quals prior reporting to their assigned duty station?

Comment by Cath Bubblehead mom on October 27, 2014 at 11:39am

Hi K-Love - my son just left Groton for VA. He reports in a week or so. The FB page is a closed one - they do not let people join until they can verify that your sailor is part of the crew. I have to wait until he actually checks in.
