I think I might have it figured out.  Maybe it's his work group?  Weapons?

I am fairly new to it also! Yes they do get mail on the ship & it might possibly be by carrier pigeon!! I'm told it is dropped off by helicopter! I do not know what the Weps is...this is a learning experience for sure!!

So, I'm new to this whole "mom of sailor who is actually sailing" thing.  The kid texted me an address this morning and it's identicle to the one on the Mason's website except my son had his name and "Weps" at the top of his text.  What is 'Weps" ?  Is that part of the address?  Do they get mail in the middle of the ocean?  From helicoptors, passing ships, friendly dolphins, industrious carrier pidgeons?  I know they have e-mail on the carriers because I've gotten thank you's from people I've sent packages to for the Holiday project but do they have that on the Mason as well?  I feel like we're in boot camp all over again because I'm out of contact and clueless.  (Notice the "we" in the boot camp comment.  I suppose the sailors might view it differently but it sure felt like eight weeks of hard work to me!)  Any and all info would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Mason Parents!

My son was just home for a week & I miss him already! He told me that he thought we would be able to watch the Mason leave port on the 22nd over the internet! Does anyone know more about this?

Now that the ship is deploying I am anxious to get to know you all!

I'm almost at the end of the Mom of a land locked sailor and about to move on to the Mom of a sailor at sea.  I have questions.  Those rack curtains that you read about...  are they worth getting?  I know there's no room for something that doesn't really serve a purpose.  Can we know what battle group the Mason is a part of?  Just curious.

Is anyone or their sailor coming to the Army Navy Game this weekend?

Hello to all.  My son has been on hold in Great Lakes after finishing A school.  He just got orders for C school in Dam Neck and will be joining the USS Mason after that.  He is excited to be moving onto the next phase of his Navy Career.  I'm excited to have found this group and I look forward to learning from you!
