For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

I know by fb that all military in Japan are accounted for...I just havent heard, and would like to know if others of the McCain have heard from their sailors.

I heard from my son via facebook this morning...they were out when it hit and all it well, they are waiting to render aid where needed. However, he didn't sound too sure about his housing...I haven't heard anything yet as to the condition of base or surrounding areas..

Base by report no damage. will look for reports about roads--most are walking.
I did translate the twitter feeds about yokosuka-shi...pretty good overall, water, gas ok, power I think is back on. its cold though and power limited. (these are from japanese posts). but continued shaking and now in the mountains so its gonna be a long haul for everyone. bet they can't wait to render aid!
I know how you feel, I have been getting calls from family as well. Thank you for the update on the area. My son lost all of his belongings in Mississippi when Katrina hit so I was really hoping it didn't happen to him again...still praying...I will post again when I hear more as well..

not sure where he lives, but it would appear that the town is doing ok. the people are posting about unusual things--like the vending machines are giving contents free due to the shakeup. (Japan seems to have vending machines for everything) I'm sure that was not planned. I looked on google earth too and my son's neighborhood looks okay. At first I was worried about how low they were (tsunami) but now I wonder about the house....if I find anything out I will post or message you when I figure out how
