We are all important!!! My husband works in the communications dept. So his communications rarely go down so I am not sure if others comms are down or not. Hope you hear from him soon!

Good for you, Jaime! I thought the "blackout" might have started. My son called Sunday, Sept. 4, but the call was dropped while we were still talking. He has yet to call back. Had one email about Thursday. I know they are busy ... and I'm sure it's more important for those who are married to call their spouses, than for those who are not married to call their moms!

Yes, I have had both!

Anyone had a phone call from the ship over the last few days? Email?

my son is a marine, he is still on fb. since this whole comm. down, i have talked to him 4x's and fb chatted twice - which is more than i have the whole time he's been gone. he said someone left something up and they can't use the ships computers - (i just assumed everyone had their own), so maybe that is the only comm. that is really down

I asked my husband last night about FB and he said they are allowed to use it. He said maybe it is the marines that aren't allowed.

Thank you Tracy taylor-edberg: I planning on writing tons of letters and sending numerous carepackages with all his favorite goodies in them! We did a deployment with the Truman last year but our communication didnt black out very much so he was able to talk most of my day because he worked nights. From what ive read and have been told ive pretty much shoved the idea of talking to him everyday to the back of my head.  I love the quote she posted! Spoken from a True military member!

Hey Mesa Verde Spouses, significant others and parents.

My husband will be joining the crew next month and I'm trying to meet other family members with Sailors on the ship. I live in the Hampton roads area, we have no kids but am not against hanging out with those that do as I love kids!

Like last night it was supposed to happen. No one I know from the ship has been on since, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it did (since it was supposed to happen like a week ago too and it didn't). I heard email is still up, though. So we still have some form of communication.
Comment by hmdbridgewater on September 8, 2011 at 8:55am
Yes I heard that, but apparently it might be a temporary thing.
