Good Morning ladies, My husband will very  soon be joining the Uss Mesa Verde crew, We are transferring from the Uss Harry S Truman. I'm hoping to meet some ladies with spouses on the ship as I am completely in the dark about the ship, deployment time line as well as everything else that goes along with a deployment on the Mesa Verde.

I have had packages get to my husband in a little less than two weeks and I have also had a one or two take over a month... I am currently waiting for one to get to him that I mailed about three weeks ago.

The picture I just posted is a view of the Mesa Verde at the Italian Naval Base in Taranto. You could see it from the waterfront in the city. It was the talk of the town!

Linda, so glad you got to visit your son!  I went and visited my husband when they were in Greece, it was amazing! We had a great time.  We both needed the vacation and it was wonderful to be able to see him especially since this deployment is so long.  I agree 100% with you, if any of you are able to go overseas to see your loved one you should definatly do it, it is totally worth it!

Hi folks,
I got back from Europe Friday night. We visited our son while the Mesa Verde was in port. He was able to take leave. It was great to see him, and we enjoyed sightseeing with him. We could see the ship from the waterfront in the city where the naval base is. We met our son at the main gate. I guess it's OK to say where now that the port call is over, but I'm a little hesitant. He said that the sailors are always very busy. He looked tired and was glad of an opportunity to catch up on some sleep. If you get an opportunity to visit sometime when the ship is in port, I urge you to take advantage of it. I think it meant a lot to him, and it certainly did to us.

Oh tracy it was me...not jason...the info we fill out when registering is all out on the internet!!  Just wondering if it could be locked out....?????....I know in facebook you cqan register your groups as secret and no one can see any info....seems like the registration info would be private....just wondering if there has been an oversight in creating the sight to ensure this!!
