Lorraine glad you are enjoying your visit with Scott, how long is he home for?  Or he is out now?

Comment by Lorraine on August 3, 2012 at 11:58am

Scott's been home three days and he has already diagnosed a computer problem and helped me set up a network password for our wi-fi connection. I have been trying to figure that out for years! These things are so easy for him :-) Looking forward to some target practice with his special toys and just enjoying his coming and going while he's home. Life is normal again...

Deanne - thats a great patch. Are all the crew getting that patch?

LLoves - when my son called me the next morning, he told me that they were commanded to call and not to talk in detail about the events that went on, because of the investigation.

Just glad there were no causlities..

Lloves, I can understand why. This could have been so much worse, and no one wants to think of those consequences. We have a great safety record because the Navy takes this seriously.

Alex says it was the Nav Officer that broke his ribs when he fell down a hatch or something. He also said that there is a lot the crew isn't telling family (wives & moms) about what they went through that night.

I didnt hear about the ladder melting either.  or about the Chief being injured.

Comment by LLovesmysailor on July 24, 2012 at 11:41am

I doubt they will let the guy off easy. After all, he cost the shipyard a lot of money, since they have taken responsibility for the fire and fixing the Miami. Besides, he is a know danger because he set 2 fires not just the one on the Miami.

Comment by LLovesmysailor on July 24, 2012 at 11:39am

It was when the ladder melted that they decided to pull out. They were just on their way in and were not headed that way. It was just kind of a shock to see it had melted.
