crmn20, Not a single word since Rota, Spain. They are getting e-mail, so keep writing. The guys love to hear from home, even if they can't write back.

Wow, it looks like the hurricane could actually hit New London, CT by the end of the weekend. I just hope everyone takes it seriously. They Navy is getting ready to move the fleet out of Norfolk, so they are taking it very seriously.

Hi everyone!  My name is Wendy, and my husband, James, is presently on the Miami as an FT1.  Proud to have fellow member Deanne as a mother in law!  :)  So glad to have found you guys, and this page.  If I can be of any help to any of you, I will try my best.

And a7xLoveMySailor85...  Pretty sure that it was www.atlanticcoastentertainment.com that did all of the photography at the ball this year.  You might want to E-Mail them.

Miami has a page on Meetup.com. It is the site for the Miami wives, although they let us Moms in also. I would start there. They are a wonderful group of ladies and since you are so close, you might be able to attend a get together or meeting with the FRG.

As far as being out of the loop, join the crowd. Non of us have heard from our sailors since they left Spain. When was that? Seems like ages ago. When you e-mail your sailor, ask him if he put you on the FRG contact list. If not ask him to do it when he can send an e-mail or makes a port call.

Laura, How are you planning to drive to Groton? That is what route do you take?

As far as I know, there is no exact date set for home coming. But, we are suppose to go to Hawaii in early January and Alex is suppose to go with us. He assured me, when I made the reservations, that they would be back by then. One thing I know for sure is that when they do come back it will be a Very Cold day. I'm going to buy long johns this time!

there r some guys on the miami right now whose email privileges were suspended because they talked dates and locations on emails.  also a boat who sat offshore and they wouldn't let it port in Groton on its homecoming date because wives posted the dates on facebook.  we need to private email or call if we're posting dates.  my email is djudd1955@yahool.com

Deanne, FRG stands for Family Readiness Group. Years ago it use to be call the wives club, but the FRG helps out more than just the wives.  I bought some long sleeve mock turtleneck shirts with Miami 755 on them. So, family are getting those for Christmas. Last time I was in Groton, I bought a Miami Christmas ornament for our tree. I'm hoping they sell something like that again.
