Wow, that is going to be a big change. Make sure you take your heavy coats.

I got to meet some of the wives at the last home coming. They seemed like a very nice group of women. Enjoy CT, it is a really nice place to be stationed.

Nikki, Welcome to our group. What does your son do on the Miami? Tell us a little about yourself.

I talked to Alex and he said something about something being broken. So, that's why they've been very busy. I'm still hoping they will get more help in his division so they don't cancel his holiday down time. We don't have any dates yet either.

Hi Jerri, I'm glad to hear from you. I'm doing fine. We've been away for a few days. Alex is working his tail off. He had duty on Thanksgiving and may not make it home for Christmas or New Years. His division is very short handed at the moment and they are having trouble getting new replacements. The poor kid sounded exhausted the last time I talked to him.

Hiromi, The FRG has a group on Meetup.com. Just look for the group USS Miami FRG in Groton Ct. The co-president is Christy. I'm sure she can help you.

FRG is the family readiness group. They are the wives of the Miami. I'll see if I can find the contact for you. Today they are delivering goodies to the guys that have the Duty today. One of them is my son. So, I owe a big thanks to the wives of the Miami.

I think they might be selling wristbands with USS Miami on them. Like the Livestrong ones from Lance Armstrong's charity. If you want to know about it, ask the FRG to add you to their list and they will keep you updated.
They are not deploying on Friday. Just a short in and out. They do that all the time.

Mariella, congratulations on the new grand-baby. I hope his mom is feeling better soon.
lovebug, I know how you feel. I miss my son all the time. Its hard not knowing if they are out or in Port. The crew seems to be a great group of guys. I'm sure your son will enjoy his time on the Miami.

Hiromi,
Its great to have you on board. What is your son's rate (his job on the Miami)? The Miami's crew is a small one and they get to meet everyone sooner or later. So, I'm sure Alex has met your son or soon will.
The Miami FRG is going to be having a fundraiser soon. I'll post the link here for anyone who might want to support the Miami families.
