I didn't know anything about the half way bags-- I feel bad about that. What did you put in them?

I so much appreciate being able to talk to you both!  I went at least a whole year without being able to talk to anyone else that had a son on subs... it's just better now.  THANKS : )

Yes Kendrasue we are walking in your same shoes and feel the very same way. I don't think my nonmilitary friends can relate one bit. They always ask about my son which is great but they have no idea.......That is where N4M makes ALL the difference and that is why I always come here. It is an extra special comfort when they are deployed. We can give cyber hugs and share the pain and joy. We will always be here for you and answer your questions the best we can. Have a great weekend and let us now how it goes. luv ya!

Sounds like we are all going to hug our boys within the next few days. What a blessing!

That will be very special time with Drew before his first deployment. Have a blast and give him some cards and pictures to put in his sea bag :)

We are so excited that he gets to come home for 5 days.  He has training all of this week, but then gets a few days off. I'll have all six of my kids home for the weekend.  It's been since Christmas of 2009.  How did you get on the newsletter list?

Hi all - I've been out of town for a few days.   I've never heard of the video message.  I wish we could do that.

Thanks for the book info. I will pick up that one. That would be nice to live in WA and be closer to your family. Also glad that maybe he can live off base. Let me know if he will apartment hunt and I will tell you where my son lives. We went to Navy days in LA today and waited 3 hours to tour the carrier but it was worth it. The sailors were so knowledgeable and had nice manners. There were tons of people so the Navy is very popular!!!!

Yes that is a big concern of mine- who is going to hold that welcome home banner and give them the first hug! I hear you get about a 24 hour notice when they are coming in. It is hard to make arrangements at home and jump on a plane with little notice. If you have family in WA you will be in good shape!
