Today is my first day as a USS Michigan mom.  My son is finishing up ELT training (don't ask me what that is exactly, all I know is it has to do with the chemistry of the power plant) in NY and has been advised he will be on the Michigan.  I live here in the Seattle area so he's coming home, for a while anyway.  He says he is being forward deployed to Guam - I don't know what that means either!  I can see by reading the posts below that I have a lot to learn.  Gold/blue crew?  What's that?  This will be my sailor's first deployment; he is an MM3.  Any info will be greatly appreciated!

Hi Barb. I am glad they are back too!!! Homecoming was a little different this time; it was very, very late at night, it was raining, and when the buses rolled in, the guys got off so quick and were gone LOL. I am glad you will see your Son at Christmas. No, this was not his first deployment on the Michigan, he has been here for a couple years. But this is the first time I found a group of Michigan Moms and I am so glad to be in touch with other Moms!!

Hi!  I just found out that my son will be on USS Michigan the next time it is deployed.  Can you tell me what crew that will be?

 :). Thanks Barb!

I don't have facebook but I will use the email. If I can't get the dates electronically or by phone, though, I guess I'm in the same position I was in before.:)

Hi there!

My name is Alison and I have a son on the USS Michigan. Got an email from him saying I could contact the ombudsman to find out how when he gets back home -- does anyone here have that information? Thanks!!
