Yes, Point Loma is in the San Diego area. I was hoping a newbie at the post office made a mistake. I'm going there today to ask them if there was some mistake, or if they know how I should address it. Let me know what your son tells you! Chris's birthday is at the end of November and now I'm concerned he won't get his box in time. And here we both thought we were doing so good in mailing the boxes in plenty of time!

Thank you, Sandy. The address you listed is the address I used. They sent it back with "Not Point Loma" written on the package. What's up with that???

I use the priority large flat rate box and they will give you a discount for military.  I usually put my son's favorites in there like rice krispie treats and oreoes, movies and I sent him oreo cakesters.  I think anything is okay as long as it won't melt too much.....I think they sit on pallets for a while......and they have been taking a month to get there.  I also send gourmet coffee because I know they have a coffee maker in his work area.  He works at night and also is on the vbss team....so he I think he probably drinks plenty of it!  Hope this helps!  :)

Hello All, My son's on the USS MB and he provided the mailing address but it's his 1st tour and I'm not sure what the best shipping method is, what size of items or boxes are recomended and if you all have any suggested items that are well received you could share with me. Thanks in advance for your help.

I know!  Mail seems so slow......he's probably sick of me sending him stuff!  LOL

I just send stuff to share with everyone, so they all can have some treats!  He's been doing other stuff too off the ship, so he probably had them waiting for them....or his buddies attacked them while he was gone!  LOL

Boxes have been taking about 4 weeks right now because of where they are.  Very slow....and thats in the 2 day priority large flat rate box.  I send about a box a week....and I am getting my Christmas ones ready now!!!!  They got all the halloween ones I sent just in time and I sent them a month in advance!
