I really enjoyed the opportunity to be on the Momsen tiger cruise, but disappointed we had to turn around. It was great to see my son. It definitely was a unique experience being along side our servicemen and servicewomen. We drove along the West Coast from San Diego to Seattle and got our flight home late last night.

The Ombudsman sent an email. They are safest out to sea. Plans to keep on course for their next port.

Beth, I got an email from Mary's son and the ship Commander for the needed info for family to get on base and see the ship moor at the pier. Check out weather.com for Tsunami update on west coast arrival times. Also look at USS Alabama in Hawaii on facebook. There's is an update there.

Thanks Beth. I've been trying to get security clearance for my brother & family who live north of San Diego to get on base. They just decided they can take us to the base. I would love them to get to see my son on base! I'm not sure of the procedures.

Does anyone know where to go to get to the ship in San Diego? Is it the Coronado base. I did not get any information.

I agree too. I'm very blessed with the technology today, To be able to get emails, look on the Navy sites and facebook for any information during my son's deployment was helpful. It had to be so hard for families before this technology!

I got a phone call from my son on his cell phone. He sounded upbeat!! It was good to hear his voice. It's been a few months. So great!

Beth, My son emailed me that he knows your son Erik. He says he's a "real good guy!"

Hi Beth, I got an email from Steve. Things are going well! He said he would let me know my female enlisted sponsor for the tiger cruise as soon as he finds out. I asked him if he knows Erik.
