New to this group.....nice to have found it. My son just received soft orders for the USS New Orleans. I realize they just deployed. He graduates A school in GL in a few weeks. I assume (as long as his orders don't change), that he will be flown out to meet up with his ship. Can anyone confirm that this is how it works? Thank you!
How do I find information on the Ombudsman for the USS New Orleans? There use to be a place on this site but I cannot locate it now.
donnab,
after he gets all checked in he will have an email account.
My son is new to the USS New Orleans, he is an IC. How do you email your sailor on the USS New Orleans?
@Mumser
Hi, I would be happy to help you with any information I can give you. My husband is currently stationed on the ship, so I can always ask him if I don't have an answer. As far as internet goes, yes they have internet on the ship but he will not always be able to use it depending on how busy they are or where he may be working on the ship. Also there might be times where operations dictate that no internet is allowed, this is called River City which can last anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.
@tupelorose
Hi, the one on the site is the correct zip code, 96673-1701. I've already sent 7 packages to my husband with this zip code and all have made it to him.
Hi everyone I posted a couple days back that I wanted to confirm my sons address on the USS New Orleans he gave me 96675-1701 but the Navy site gives 96673-1701 so I was wondering if any one know what the address is. Thank you

Wow, ok. My daughter is on the Boxer and there are so many comments on there. Well anyway, really proud to be part of this group too. Has anyone received any emails from this ship? I heard their email system was down.
@3musketeers, as far as I know it is the only group on here for the New Orleans. I actually don't get on here as much anymore like I used to.
