My son will be joining the USS O'Kane in May. He's fresh out of school and this is his first assignment.  He's thrilled his orders were for Hawaii--as he loves to surf and enjoy the water.

I'd love to know where others stayed when they visited their loved one in Hawaii and any tips you can pass along. I've never been to Hawaii, and now that Alaska Airlines flies there--I'm looking forward to going.

My youngest son rolls out to Navy boot camp on April 25th. He will be joining the sub program in Groton, CT.
