That is so wonderful Jesmom! I sure am happy to see my sailor on the home turf, and all her freinds and family around to welcome her back!

Hi friends!!!!  Hope everyone had a fantastic time with their sailors.  I know I did. Whew.....  we packed so much into those days - I needed a vacation to recover from vacation.

Oh my gosh. I would have completely lost it. Glad things worked out though.

I went to the gate at 630, couldn't get on base because my name was not on the list, I nearly had a stroke, then they told me to go across the street and get a day pass, where they told me they don't give out day passes for special events, and that I would have to wait until the ship came in, and I would have to notify my daughter that she would have to escort me on base. Luckily, another mother was going through the same thing, soon we had 9 cars trying to figure out a way around, then one of the FRG came and escorted us. It was pretty crazy, I would sure like to know who was responsible for messing up the list, but it all worked out in the end. I posted pics on the FRG, and some on the OA FB

I was wondering the same thing. We arrived on base around 7:30 (after the GPS got us lost) and we were one of the first ones there. My son was one of the LAST ones to come off of the ship because he didn't want to get caught up in the rush. He brought us on board but we just went to his control room where his stuff was. We had toured the ship the last time we had picked him up. So many steps/ladders!!!

LOL!! Wondering if our paths crossed at some point, Jesmom, did you tour the ship? Watched my daughter sleep, got Taco Bell 2x! It was relaxing, watched old funniest home videos, the power went out at the Navy Lodge Sunday morning, but luckily it was back on before it got too muggy !

Hard to believe this adventure is already over. I feel like we waited SO long for the homecoming.
