I messaged you Jesmom
Oh well cancelled reservations at Navy lodge. Not a happy Mama right now!!!
Navy lodge check lol
We message through FB and messenger too. Definitely a lifeline. I miss not being able to text him. I agree - it is nice to be able to send and wait.
My sailor has done well with his finances. I work for a financial firm and he's been investing for a couple years. He has a really nice portfolio started. I'm proud of him. He's never really denied himself anything, but still has quite a bit put away. I'm glad he was good with his money. Being in Japan definitely helped that.
He spent his first year at Great Lakes which was awesome because we don't live too far away. I loved being able to see him regularly. It was quite a shock when he got his first orders. Can't believe that's all behind us. How time flies.....
Jesmom6 He's been in for 5+ years. He'll be out Feb/March. He's anxious to be done. There were a few times that he thought he would make a career out of it, but those times are long gone. He is thankful for the experiences, but is beyond ready to start living a normal life again.
I agree - excited doesn't begin to explain it. I have countdowns going for all kinds of things. It's been great being able to talk to him so much though. He never called from the ship the last 3 deployments. But they had more stops during those also. When he was in Japan they would go out for a couple months - back for a couple weeks - then back out. It was nice to have it broken up.
