I broke out in a sweat even though I had heard snippets on the news. I used to have FOX on 24/7 but not anymore.
Haven't heard from our son for a week so it hit me esp. hard when posted here.
Navymomwife, hang in there. You are in my prayers. I pray for all our kids everyday.
Sent two boxes today full of food and snacks. Then went out and bought more! I guess it's all we can do. I worry about the kids that don't get care packages from home and hope OUR kids share.

Night all. God bless our military.

Navywifemom--
I will remember you in my prayers. Please keep up posted on the status of your hubby and sons. We know that our boys are safe. I hope your boy will call you soon.

Julie B-
My son wanted canned tuna and a can opener, so course they are one their way to him now. I always try to send a package of drink mixes, his favorite is Kool-Aid, I'v e only been able to find Fruit Punch and Orange. He wanted trail mix, so I've sent packages of trail mix and I've also sent packages of M&m's, nuts, dried cranberries, sunflower seed and ziploc bags so he make his own. I don't think he's recieved that one yet. By the way, when they were in Europe, I sent hot cocoa, well he doesn't want that right now!! I also sent Red, White & Blue candies, tootise pops and salt water taffey, and the patriotic Conversation hearts to his division. I even put a copy of little local paper in the boxes sometimes too!!

Happy for both of you! Phone calls are the best. Son called last week during my brothers wedding reception and got to talk to everyone! It was very difficult to hear him and I know he was a bit disappointed that each person didn't talk very long. Wasn't anyone's fault just a bad connection and everyone was frustrated!
Any new ideas on what to send? My son asked for Fruit Punch drink mix and also Gatorade mix. He REALLY wants homemade choc. chip cookies but with the heat here AND there, I told him he would have to wait!

Hi all;
My son called yesterday afternoon and we talked for just about an hour. It was wonderful to hear his voice. I get a least one email per week, usually its about 3 per week. He has received just about all my packages. Some of them have taken almost 5 weeks, and the latest one took ab out 2 1/2 weeks. It sounded like he got about 3 or 4 packages in one week.

Julie - Our son has been quite active on the computer lately and he spoke with his wife for 45 minutes the other day. It took over 5 weeks to get the box we sent him. Getting ready to mail another one - sure hope it doesn't take that long again.

Just checking in to see if anyone has heard from their sailor lately? Last we heard from ours was a call July 17. Nothing since then. :(
Sending another care package tomorrow. The first only took two weeks.
Hope all of you are hanging in there!

Navywifemom;
Thanks for checking, any information will be helpful. I sent Patriotic conversation hearts (like the Valentine ones), Red, White, & Blue Tootsie Pops, and Salt Water Taffey to my son's division. I sent them about the 25th of June, as of his last email that package hasn't arrived yet.

Good morning all;
I have been trying to send a package every week. It seems to taking up to three to four weeks. I talked with my son over two weeks ago, and had an email on Thursday from him.
