Navywifemom- and all other members:
Have you applied for the family website at this website.
http://www.oscar-austin.navy.mil/default.aspx
The system admin has to give you a logon and a password and you logon to a completely different website. It took about a week to get it all done.
The ombudsman for this ship seem to be on the ball, I called last week about a possible different mailing address, and she called back with 2 hours. She was really friendly.

Hi all;
My son told me they would be out for least six months. Not much help, but better than a guess.
Welcom Mary

Once again, a great big hugh {{}} and CONGRATUATLIONS on graduating!!
Starr-
We'll learn this deployment thing together. My son is a GSM which is a Gas Turbine Service Mechanic, so he's in the engineering section.

By the way, he said the weather was hot there, I think that's kinda funny, because during the summer here the temps get over 100 degrees for over two months (july and august). Have to scoot. Will add you all to my prayer list.

Hi Star--
I'm working one part time job, and I could use two more that pay what I make right now. The countdown has started, I'm ok with it so far, but they're still here. You and the moms who have survived a deployment are going to help me through. This will be his first deployment.

Good evening all:
Just checking in, ok, so what happens in the next few weeks before they leave? This is all new to me because my son just finished boot camp and A school.

Ramona--
Thanks for the welcome. This group of mom's seems to be from all points in our country. I'm on the west, Starr from the east coast and you're in the middle. This is going to be an adventure for my son and for me.
