Hi julie! Yes. Excited doesn't even explain how I'm feeling!! The navy lodge is booked. My son has asked for the names for the gate pass. I haven't been this excited since PIR!!

Hi ladies everybody getting excited?? That was a stupid question huh. Haha Did ya get your pictures off for slide show? I finally did, I'm bad about putting things off. I hope to get to meet some of you soon.

Jenismer how long has he been in? Mine isin for almost two so far planning on doing 20+. He loves it so much. Every now and then I ask him if he still thinks it was the right decision. His last reply was "this is the greatest achievement of my life so far"(he advanced twice in this deployment). So true about the friends still living home. It makes me wonder if they'll ever leave! And I'm glad he left them for the navy. He'll see them when he comes home on leave but he gets real antsy when it's getting close to his time to head back.

It is rolling up on us soon, I will be very happy to see that smile in person, it has been a long deployment for me!! LOL

I hope everyone is having a good day.  I've been in contact with my sailor a lot lately.  I'm glad of that.  Making plans for the future.  Hard to believe we're actually at this point.  Less than a year and he'll be a civilian again.  Where did the time go?  But to look back at his many adventure - many ports - experiences - everything.  He's definitely led a very different life from his friends still living in their parents' basements.  ;)

I thought for sure he would get his packages if I mailed them 2 months before they got back. He didn't ask for gold bond but did say he was running out if shaving supplies and deodirant so that's what I sent. And I sent enough to share. He even said to mail them quickly as it would probably be the last mail. Oh well....

Bummer! I sent 2 packages already, she hasn't gotten them yet, and another one she asked for stuff to go out tomorrow but that almost sounds pointless now! I know it seemed like it took 2-3 months for her to get the packages, then she didn't have space to put the stuff! Do the guys ask for a lot of gold bond?
Comment by jenismer on May 31, 2015 at 10:46pm

Checked with him again tonight.  No package.  Will have to wait until they get back.  :(

Yes.  Mine said the same thing.  I sent a box the middle of April and I don't know that he ever got it.  He said that at this point mail will be waiting for them in VA.  :(  He explained why and I get it but that doesn't make it any easier. They look forward to mail.  Helps moral.

I'm definitely counting the days.  This will (hopefully) be his last long deployment.  I'm counting the days.
