Hi tysmom I've seen the pics on ships page. I just thought it was odd that the frg page didn't post any. My sailors dad and I have plans to send pics for slide show. His dad will be wearing the worst Bermuda shorts he owns, and trust they are awful!!! Holding a sign by the pool saying Where's my pool boy!!! Yes were a very strange family!!!  The funny part, his dad is a really big biker dude!!! He'll love it!!!

Oh, I don't know of another FRG page either. Did you see that they are making another slideshow for the sailors? We can send a homecoming message to them and a picture.

Tysmom I do follow that one. I was just wondering if there was a FRG page besides the facebook page. My son keeps referring to them for the important information we will be needing, but I haven't seen anything yet.

Look for the "USS Oscar Austin (DDG79)" facebook page. That is the one where you will find pics of sailors and the activities on the ship. Along with other info.

My son says the same. Especially when I ask specifics about the ship (that is actually public knowledge) and he says i cannot cinfirm or "it's pretty cool!"

I emailed the ombudsman for any info at Oscaraustinombuds@yahoo.com. Hopefully we will start getting info. I do know when the ship will be returning.

I was wondering the same thing. I don't know of any other page.. But your right, I've never seen anything on there about the ship itself, or pictures of our sailors or anything. Mostly events for local families. I have no idea when homecoming is. I'm sure when find out soon. I hope. Lola

Talking to my son and he said that the FRG should have more information about the homecoming. I joined the Oscar austin FRG facebook page. Is there another one I should be looking for? That page seems to have a lot of info on things for families that live in norfolk versus everyone else. Or just be patient and wait for the info. He also gave me the email for the ombudsman.
