Cyn, I sent you a friend request awhile ago. You probably haven't noticed. I am in the San Francisco Bay Area Group too. My son is an officer on another sub in Hawaii. He has been in Hawaii since Dec '08. There are two other officers from Northern CA in Hawaii. I tracked you to this group (one family from Stockton and the other from Mtn View). Please accept my friend request so we can talk privately. Hope your son is doing better. Just wanted to find out if there is anything I can do.

Thanks Pat. They are sending Brian home for a week. Grief is an interesting process. Thanks for all the prayers!

Cyn, You don't have to leave. At least, keep us updated on how Brian is doing. We all pray for him!!

hi all, well, it looks like I may be leaving this lovely group :( Brian finally just got the death certificate and has been working hard to finish up his wife's estate. It doesn't look like he's going out with the boat although he did say there is a possibility that they will bring him to the boat when he's done, but he's not counting on that. He said they will probably assign him to another boat.
Ellen, congrats to Lee on his rank up to petty officer third class! Brian also ranked up off an exam to petty officer second class.

You are a great group of women/moms and I am blessed to have known you through this horrific storm we just went through. If you continue to remember Brian in your prayers that would be a comfort as now is the time when it is hard. The news is old and he must continue to press on without the support of the guys on the boat.

when i talked to him he didnt know what he was going to do. Im glad he did something and not just stay in his room. We only have a few more days and we will be there to see the boys. Im excited. Ellen the boys must be close because my son passed his test too. Im proud of them both.

peggy,
Brian has been race sailing, and doing a LOT of golfing! He already is a master dive/dive master in scuba and would love to go out with your son I'm sure. He may even have "extra: dive equipment as he has been doing a LOT of shop therapy :) He's VERY athletic and loves to have something going on. Hope they meet up. before the boat comes back.

Hey, Cyn I will send a friend invite to let you know our last name. Not sure if we are supposed to list it in open forum. He told us yesterday he sky dived at 12,000 ft. on a whim! check that off his bucket list. He also has signed up for scuba diving lessons for this week. He has had no contact with anyone on "the boat" He is not sure what is going on that way...

Terri, I have a rough idea on time but that is something we shouldn't say here in the open forum.(OPSEC rules) I will send you a friend request and then a PM.
